Ok, so it's no secret that I don't take on many weddings, but when I do get one.... I get the best!!
Going back over a year, the Groom Richard heard I was dabbling in photography and asked would I capture his wedding, he was my first wedding enquiry, and if I am honest, I actually shat myself with nerves! I mean, I wasn't a wedding photographer, hell I had only just set up, I was still trying to find my style, still trying to figure out if this running a business lark was for me.
What did I do?? I agreed!!! Roll on to the wedding day, and I have since had a few weddings under my belt, each as unique and beautiful as the next one...
So on the 3rd May, I attended the wedding of Jodie and Richard. On the way to Jodie's mums the sky turned grey and the heavens opened, but hey ho, I had no control over the rain, I did however have control and ability to capture their day perfectly.
I loved how relaxed they were, happy to run with my ideas and posing styles, they had just a small list of group shots, the rest was just natural shots of themselves and guest's having a ball.
Arriving at the venue, The Lion Quays, the clouds started to break and the sun came out. what a glorious sight.
I was met by a very nervous Richard, and I mean he was super nervous, yet throughout the morning Jodie was super chilled out after having a few glasses of wine and a pamper buy the Lovely, Mandy Rigby MUA.
And so she arrived, the beautiful bride, the star of the show, walked proudly down the aisle by her dad whilst guests came over all emotional, a lovely service followed and not a fluffed word was heard.
The day ran without a hiccup, the speeches were funny, and emotional, I will be the first to admit that I always get emotional at the speeches, it can be hard work trying to get the shots through teary eyes, I had a running joke with the groom about him crying "I am NOT going to cry he said" and so far so good, he had held himself together through the speech, then he came onto the subject of his children, their little family, and with that, BOOM.. the tears started flowing!
A perfect day for a perfect family.. Richard & Jodie, I thank you for having me as a part of your big day, I wish you all the very best for your future... Much love and happiness, Karen xxxx
