So, this post is intended not to force you, but to encourage you to get in those images with the kids... let me explain!
All to often when I am on a session I ask parents if they would like a shot with the kids, if I had a pound for every time I hear the following.........
Nooooooo I look awful, I haven't brushed my hair, No thank you, just the kids please, only if you can photoshop a few stone off me, I look a mess, I have no make up on.... and so on.. the list is endless...
Now don't get me wrong, I HATE being the other side of the lens, seriously hate it, BUT in years to come, when my grandchildren ask my daughters to get the biscuit tin of images out (we all have been there right??) and ask where was nanny, my girls will only be able to answer "oh, she didn't like having her photo taken" now, that in itself makes me feel sad, I mean they will want to see Nanny, they won't care that my hair was a mess, or I looked fat, or my double (ok treble) chins were clearly showing! NOPE, they will just want to see nanny.
Memories are so very important, I can't reiterate this enough, and its not until they are all you have left that you realise this, by then it's too late to do anything about it. Its a sad state of affairs when we are not body confident enough to even take a selfie with our own kids never mind get involved in a photoshoot with them for just a few shots.
Sooooooo this year it is my goal (as much as I hate it) to get in the images with the kids.
Are you with me?????? the kids, grandkids and great grandkids will be eternally grateful
I hope I have given you some food for thought....
Just do it, the future generations really will thank you for it!
Much love, karen xxxxx
